The journey began with clean clothes and smiling faces. No one knew of the obstacles they would have to overcome.Would they have to cross muddy moats that housed alligators?Would they have to be fired from catapults?Would there be murky swamps with rodents of unusual size?Would they have to walk on water like St. Maur?Would they have to defeat the invincible blue-horned dragon? No matter what hurdles their path laid before them, they could conquer them together.Because they were never alone.Even if they would end up muddy, tired and occasionally scratched. But most of all, in this little journey at Hidden Lake, they would learn about their Real Destinationthat is the one Person who would never leave them or forsake them, because they knew that St. Padre Pio was right when he said: “A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.”This is but a glimpse of the adventure Maur Hill-Mount Academy students experienced at Hidden Lake, GA. While they learned how to work as a team and how to be a servant leader with countless fun activities, their main focus was the Eucharist. Through speakers, Scripture studies, sacraments and prayer, they came closer to their ultimate destination, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
