A family-like community
Maur Hill-Mount Academy strives to provide a life of community where every boarder can find his home-away-home. While it is easy to get lost in the crowd of big schools, there is room for everyone at the table in our small but intimate school. No one is allowed fall through the cracks and everyone is a member of the the family.
In a boarding school, students learn by interacting with their peers in every aspect of their lives. Because of the diverse background of the students, this unique community experience provides an atmosphere of learning and growth. Through weekly scheduled activities, retreats and communal times, MHMA students are encouraged to build a community of friendship and leadership where they can transition from childhood to adulthood.
A safe and supportive environment
While safety of our students is something we take vey seriously at Maur Hill-Mount, this does not mean that we create a strict and inflexible environment. On the contrary, within the guidelines of this safe environment, our student have the freedom to speak, think and explore. Whenever there is need for guidance, the boarders always have someone to talk to and provide direction.
Our aim is to give enough room to every student to grow in wisdom as they make their owns decisions. In the long run, this will lead to students who think critically and communicate effectively. Boarding life is an essential part of being prepared for life regardless of student’s future carrier.
Roots for a strong academic foundation
Our boarders are given countless opportunities to build a solid academic foundation for the future. These opportunities are not limited to in-class education and competitive curriculum. Extracurricular actives ranging from sports to arts in addition to the benefits of an independent life create an atmosphere where they can cultivate a successful career as upstanding members of the society.
Small class sizes lead the students to success, because they have the opportunity to interact with their teachers and peers often as they study the subject matter. This dynamic interaction leads to higher retainment of the information. Teachers become mentors and students become more and more confident in forming and sharing opinions.
