In His Presence
It is school tradition to kick off the year with an all-school retreat. This year, the theme was “Real Presence” to model the Catholic church’s national Eucharistic Revitalization movement happening now.
This retreat is so impactful and starts us all on the right frame of heart for the school year. Head girl, Hope Baniewicz, commented:
I went into retreat not knowing how it would go because I was in a different leadership position this year and was doing my best to reach out to other people, but it ended up being far greater than I expected. The Lord really opened my heart and He showed me His love through many people, especially those who spoke to me after Adoration. It was also so beautiful to see how He was working in others as well.
Guest speaker Lee McMahon led the retreat with a powerful discussion on the Holy Eucharist and being in Christ’s presence. Lee was a great candidate for our retreat as he is host of the New Mana podcast, a leader for the national Eucharistic Revival and has experience with St. Paul’s Outreach (SPO) and other Catholic organizations. In addition to the talks, students experienced the deep love of our Lord through Adoration, Mass, and the beauty of the wilderness surrounding them. Students were also gifted the book by Bishop Robert Barron, This is My Body.
