Life is full of worries and concerns. Winter gets cold, bleak and lonely. Relationships are complicated. Sometimes, hope is hard to come by. As a remedy, I suggest going to a SEEK conference at the end of which your heart will burst with hope and joy. 

SEEK is an annual conference put together by FOCUS, Fellowship of Catholic University Students. I have been watching it grow every year. Thousands of students come together from all over the world to grow in their love of Christ. This year’s SEEK boasted over 20,000 attendees. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold. 

The longest and the most impressive part of Mass was the procession of hundreds of priests. The biggest problem about the talks was that you could not decide which one to attend and you could not bilocate yet. The longest line other than the ladies’ bathroom was the amazing fast-moving confession line at the end of which hundreds of priests waited the penitents.

What was special for our school this year was that our new president, Dave Trotter, made his final rounds as a FOCUS employee to join us as head of school. What was even more special was there were thirteen Ravens who experiences this amazing conference first hand. Mr. Wessel and Mrs. Peitch “sacrificed” themselves to drive our students to St. Louis and did not enjoy their time as they listened to amazing talks.

Conferences and retreats are the times where we fill our own cups so we can share the faith, the joy and the hope the Lord gives us with our families, friends and the rest of the world. Our cups were full to the brim after SEEK24.
